Why not just post the information?

Usually I "get it"...but this time I don't.

I can understand not wanting to publicly share information about one's own area but I don't get it when you can't just post about the event.

I'm sure that Laura has a good reason for keeping this on the PM level, but "Why?" is hard to discern.

There is no website for the seminar so I can't provide a url.

I only have a two page flyer pdf that I am willing to email to interested people in MA who pm me.

Just post the vital information about it here. Type the name, address, phone number and dates for this workshop from the flyer. Then if someone wants to request additional info you can fax or e-mail the flyer. Not speaking about you in particular, but personally whenever I see someone who has helpful info but you have to p.m. or e-mail them to get it, I smell something else behind it. Call me cynical.

I think what people are objecting to is the tease factor...

What it comes down to is simply this: either provide the information openly, or don't offer to provide it at all.

This is a public forum; this whole "pm me" stuff has no place here. If I had a nickel for every one of those "I just sent you a PM" messages I read, I wouldn't have to worry about how the business is declining...

I'm also not a big fan of the "I'm taking my ball and going home" attitude; no one here is that important. You have some very useful information to share, Laura; share it or don't, that's your choice.
