If a document was rejected but not my fault, should i redo it for free?

Unless you get gas and time for free...Or they were a real good longtime client....Then I would consider a reduced fee.........

I would charge to redo a doc if it wasn't my error. Think about it this way, if it was your error, the TC/SS would expect you to correct it on your dollar. Since it's not your error, as you indicated, it should be on their bill. Fair is Fair.

I try to do it as cheaply as I can -

Like if I am going to be in the area near the borrower anyway I might do it for free or nearly free. But if there is any out of the way travel involved there's just no way to do them for free.

Fortunately it doesn't happen very often.

Most companies pay a "return trip" fee. If it isn't your error, why would you think about doing it for free?
