Signing Services who do not pay
You should be keeping records to include the Settlement company, address, contact name, telephone number. These are found in the loan package. If you are not paid, write a letter to the settlement company telling them you signed the loan and have not been paid. Ask them to pay you and ask that they no longer do business with that signing service. Request a response in writing. Write a letter to the licensing agent for the state that the signing service company is in. Request a response in writing. It is imperative that you write these 2 letters. Signing services operate in the ether of the mortgage industry and are most likely not regulated. This will bring the matter to the attention of those that have the power to change this. I am developing a form letter to meet the need. I suggest you do the same. Contact the BBB and file a complaint, please do this as it has ramifications on the future of these people. File small claims. Once you get a judgement and the proper time to pay the judgement has been passed, come back here and open a new post. Ask others who have not been paid to join with you in hiring a collections agent to go after the money owed. You will be out some money but not as much as if you did nothing. It will be easier to hire a pro as a group than to go it alone. A note about LLC's - although their personal assets are off the table, anything they used for the business is not.
