Blizzard conditions in Mid-West

How's everyone out there doing? It's creating weather havoc. We're having a high-pressure system with temps over 70 and high winds.

Re: we got hit last night and this am...had to cancel my appts

Down in the St. Louis area, it is cold and very windy. It is 21 here now and down to 15 tonight. We got rain all day Tu and today just flurries. We definetly got lucky and missed this one.

Everyone take care and be safe. When it snows down here, I base my leaving the house on how many calls the fire dept gets for accidents. Hubby is fire chief. He tells me if its too bad to go. I'm not one of those that freaks with snow though. I'm not too chicken to drive, most of the time. Its the ice that I dont' like.

Well it's not good when

the snow plow goes in the ditch in front of your house. I have shovled a path wide enough to very carefully back out to the road....if I really needed to. Snowblower being worked on by the neighbor.
Milwaukee had thunder snow last night

Zana, what's thunder snow? Thunder while it's snowing, like

A thunder storm when it's raining?

Snow here today, but only about 9 inches. Then turned to sleet/freezing rain. Was 27 during the day and now is 34, go figger. . someone from the west must be sending us "warmer" temps overnight.

Big Bear Lake in Southern California - about 60 miles northeast of me - it will be 14 degrees tonight. I live 15 mins from the San Gabriel mountains and I see snow on the mountains - very picturesque. This morning I had to de-ice my car windows. I think it was in the 30's. The instrument panel showed 36 degrees with a snowflake next to the number.

You guys just reminded me why I live in FL, 78-80 today

I hope you all make it through okay. Blizzards aren't fun, went through several in Ohio in the 70's.

18 inches here in southern WI. Really wet snow so it is

hard to shovel. trees are being weighted down onto power lines. We shoveled and plowed all day today. My poor husband is sore and tired! We have 4 feet snow drifts too!

What used to get me was spending all that time clearing to

the state snow plow go down the road and bury your driveway again. Sounds like your hubby needs to sit near a fire and thaw out and grab the linament bottle. I hope you thaw out soon.
