If a NYS resident buys Texas investment property and signs
the docs in NYS, does he need an attorney?
Thanks, Shoshana

I think anyone who buys real estate should have an attorney
unless it's really, really cheap property.

that is... even if the property is really cheap...
it wouln't be cheap by the time the attorney gets done. Get a good Realtor.
Dang it's hard to pick on lawyers when you've got butterfingers...

This sounds like that math problem I always hated!!
Answer: it'll take drive #1 3 hours and driver #2 4.25 hours and they'll meet in the middle at 2:00 pm...

Is Texas an Attorney State? (no) Is NY? (no) Is he paying cash? Is he getting a HELOC with money out? What do you think? Does he get the minerals? Should he check with the Railroad Commission? Is the investor a Democrat? If he gets a lawyer does that lawyer need to be admitted to the Texas Bar?.... The NY Bar? Does the guy drink? Sorry this question is far beyond my expertise.
