"Times are tough . . ."

Several recent posts have mentioned how tough times are now. That's true. Yet there are "many" companies out there that pay notaries fairly and on time - and conduct their business with integrity. "Times are tough" is not a good excuse for bad behavior.

make decent money. I agree Carole, I have NOT lowered my fees, and I continue to work full time, doing LOAN closings and general notary work daily. January ' 09 was the best January I have had ,since I started in Jan 2005, and that includes being gone for 15 days last month! Most of my past January's have been decent or good, but last month surpased it by a few hundred dollars. Stand your ground. Costs have risen, reputable businesses that respect you, will meet your fees.
