If I have a slight streak of ink in the middle of the page
is it a cartridge problem or internal printer problem?

I usually find it to be the cartridge. Try changing it out and re-printing.

On my HP, it's usually toner on the roller thingie - lift
up the 'cover,' and clean roller with lint free hankie.
It'd be my guess that toner is the culprit .

this happened to me yesterday...just clean the roller
with a tissue or something else that won't leave lint....should be okay...worse case scenario, it could be your drum, and my need a new one...if so, try toner refill dot com. great cheap company to buy toner and supplies from!

Word of caution when cleaning roller...
Do NOT touch the roller with even a fingernail, much less fingers. Wadded up tissue works great.

Re: Word of caution when cleaning roller...
I have a box of rubbing alcohol swabs that I use to clean toner off of the roller.
