About six months ago I downloaded QuickBooks Simple Start from the internet for free and used it up until Staples had QuickBooks Pro 2009 for 159.95 with a 159.95 rebate for one day only. Got the QuickBooks Pro 2009 and installed it and am using it now. I actually liked the Simple Start better. Both work well, however. Took me just a few minutes to print out everything I need for doing my taxes for 2008. All I need now it the 1099s, W-2s, etc to complete my taxes.

Good luck.

Don't use the program but would think that anything you can e-mail, you can print... even if you have to e-mail it to yourself.

Yes, you can print out anything that you can bring up on the screen. When you sign up for simple start, they try to have you "upgrade" to the full QuickBooks Pro. The basic difference is with Simple Start you can only print out 11 reports and with QuickBooks Pro you can print out many more. Simple start had everything I needed and, if I didn't have the opportunity to get QuickBooks Pro 2009 for free (almost) I would have stuck with the free version. I got Simple Start over the internet. Goolgled: Free QuickBooks and found a website that offerred it for free. Took about 20 minutes to download the whole program.

No, you can print out as much as you want. When you want to print "reports", like profit and loss statments, expenses, etc, there are only a limited number of different reports available. You can update the reports any time and/or print them at any time.

You can download SimpleStart for Free right from Quicken. No need to loan your money to Frys.

I use Quickbooks Simple Start. It wasn't free at the time, but was the least expense of the QB programs. It's great & gives me everything I need. You can also import to TurboTax (another Intuit program). Yes, you can email & print invoices.
