General Notary work: Waiting time

If you don't value your own time, nobody else will.

Figure out how long you're willing to wait after the original appointment time, and how much you charge per hour for waiting. And figure it out in advance. I charge $25 per hour for waiting. This is my livlihood, not a hobby, and I expect to be paid for time that I can't be doing something else. For example, if I'm waiting in a hotel lobby for the signer(s), then I can't be at home doing other work.

Important: This is NOT for loan signings! That's another kettle of fish that has been addressed ad nauseum.
