HE IS BACK from Afghanistan all Safe and Sound
I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers with helping me deal with my son being deployed to Afghanistan last year. 1 1/2 weeks ago. He is ok... Haven't talked too much about his experiences... I am waiting for him to talk. I wanta ask but know that is not recommended... So I sit and wait. If anyone has FaceBook, I have posted pictures of their return. It was so so beautiful....... You can find me Teri McDowell Cincinnati, OH area. My profile picture is a picture of me as a baby 10 months old. Take care all and God Bless you and protect each and every one of us........

Teri, we all remember waiting up for the kids to get home, from a sleepover, a camp out, a first date, the night they got their license, and many other nights and days. You never really rest until you know they are safe. Hope you are sleeping well. God Bless

Re: I attended a Hero's Welcome event last night...
and I'm going to another at the airport this afternoon.
I just checked the website and KY is listed, but has no link to click on at the present time.
http://www.aheros-welcome.org
This is a wonderful organization that makes sure all of our heros (That want one! Some of the guys/gals don't want the attention, I'm told) get a terrific welcome home.
They have a motorcycle group that comes to all of our Philly events, groups of people with antique cars and such, they arrange for the local towns fire engines to be available when the "entourage" gets closer to home, and have a small parade.
If the event is local, like the one was I attended last night, I go to the neighborhood and stand and cheer on the sidewalk as the soldier drives in.
I hope your son got the same kind of welcome home! Thank you for his service!
