I lost out on 2 jobs yesterday due to late docs...
Had appts scheduled yesterday at 10 AM, 2 PM, 4 PM, 6 PM and a personal event at 7 PMish.
10 AM and 4 PM went with no problems. 2 PM docs arrived at 1:30 but after printing I receive urgent message that docs are changing, and then it turned into a 4 PM appt - had to turn it back because I was already booked the rest of the day (by the way, borrower had left work early to be at the 2 PM appt).
Rush home after dropping completed docs from the 4 PM and find no docs yet for the 6 PM! Docs came in at 6:55 with a caveat that lender had not yet approved the HUD, and I turned it back at that point. Called borrower and told her that another notary would be assigned to come out - she was pretty ticked that things were running so late as she had made plans for later in the evening (that's why she scheduled her loan signing at 6 PM!).
Just venting!!!

My regular title companies are almost never late with docs & the "other title companies & SS" that I will take closings from, I always plan that they will be late. So I rarely turn a closing down, unless it's because of a low fee. I take the appt. & then the several Borrowers & I always figure it out. They are always understanding, as they just want to get their loan closed. It also helps that I have a mobile printer.
