Refilling your toner cartridge.

How many times generally can you use the same cartridge after serveral refillings. For me it seems like I can refill 4-5 times then I am always wiping down the drum. TIA

Yup...that's about right. 4 to 5 times, but I did have one die after 3. Dunno why--just did. Never had one go over 5 refills, either.

For HP cartridges, 4 to 5 times is about the limit, depending on how much toner is used and the condition of the drum. If you start get streaks, especially along the edges and/or squealing, it's time to replace the cartridge.

I start with the HP cartridge, and then I get about 4 or 5 refills. We also recycle the toner in the waste compartment. It saves money, and we have never had a problem with these only the generic ones you can buy at the office supply stores.

Question, how long can you wait

before refilling? I went on a company site that refills and they
listed that they had to be refilled pretty quickly or some part
dries out? Anyone know? I have some pretty old empties
that I guess I should just drop off at Staples.

Re: Question, how long can you wait

Why would you wait? Refill it right away - get use out of it.
