I had a similar problem on my 5370DW recently except mine was spotting on the page. I called customer service and they advised looking on the drum for some kind of dust and cleaning with a soft cotton cloth and isopropyl alcohol. I couldn't find any dust but I lightly cleaned the drum and the problem went away. You might also remember to move the blue tab on the top of the unit back and forth which cleans the corona wire. they tell you to do that when you change toner to avoid streaking.
