I just received my first confirmation and I am being asked to pick up a check for $350. any opinions? The signing service is Sunshine Signing Connection and I have done signing for them in the past.

You really don't give enough information for us to respond...

1. What kind of assignment is it? Is it a modification, modification application, general notary request, loan application, loan signing, debt relief/resolution, etc etc
2. What is the $350 supposed to represent - do they say? Is it for the appraisal & credit report (if a loan app), funds due (if a loan signing or final modification signing);

Need to know before giving opinion about the $350....as for the company, I've never heard of Consumer Attorneys of America (which tells me this is a debt relief appointment, but I could be wrong); Sunshine Signing connection I've heard of but never worked for so no opinion..

This is new to us as of today. I have not seen any documents as yet. We have not signed the non-lawyer agreement. As far as the $350.00 check, the instructions say pick up a check for $350 made payable to CAOA.

Re: Did you not ask what kind of signing it was?

I did not realize that they were requesting a check from the borrowers until I received the confirmation.
I am not comfortable with at all.

I would steer clear of this one. Has an odor.
