Coverage Analysis Tool
Can anybody tell me who has access to this information besides individual notaries?
Also, how many of you use the "Go live" feature? thanks

I do check the go live link sometimes, but I have ants in my pants and seldom sit down long enough at the computer to carry on a live conversation anywhere. Just as soon check now and then.

James, Do you need a password for login to Notary Talk? It's seems to be open to anyone who knows about this site. I have checked the "Go Live" feature a couple of times. The problem I see is no one else is "live". It would be useful for "live" chats when a specific times were set up and possibly even specifics topics.

Yes...I just tried it, set up settings but it only says ZERO people in any of the five rooms...odd!

James, the "Go Live" feature is a live chat, I think. I don't think I've ever used it.
As for the coverage tool, I think it is for notaries only to help them build a list of their coverage area.
On the report itself are the following phrases:
"Please do not abuse this tool. It is provided as a convenience for your personal use when completing notary agent sign-up forms and applications. Do not run reports for locations other than your own and do not use the data herein for purposes other than those described. "
Under a list that I crested:
"There are 324 ZIP codes within 50 miles of your location. The following list represents the first 200. Basic Members can only view 10."
I find that interesting... that we can only see the first 200. For me, a 50 mile drive can be pretty standard, so the tool may not give me a very accurate list. It's a nice start, though.

Correct Marian..but I wanted to know "why the do not abuse " disclaimer? Does that mean you can "view" other notary areas? Fees? Sounds like someone could have access to everyone's information for????

My guess is that the tool may use quite a bit of server resources. It does say not to use it for other areas but your own, and I don't see how you can, given that it uses the address information in your profile. I think it asks if you want to display your fees in the case that you want to print it out to supply a company with your application.

I've tried "Go Live" couple of times, no one is ever in it. I think it's a great idea to schedule time/date and topic to coordinate this room.

A little late to the party here..but I just did a
test run of the "Coverage Analysis" - it's way off for me from a reality standpoint ... based on how it worked out for me, it goes zip code to zip code (outer edges), not actual point A to point B ... example: it has me 19 miles from one particular zip when, in reality, I'm more like 30-40 miles - 45-60 minutes travel time. Another shows me 22 miles away from that zip code - actually it's more like around 35 miles..
So..again... know your area, double check and research it to be sure - you can seriously undercut yourself if you don't.

Yep...which is precisely why I said
We each need to know our area and do our OWN Coverage Analysis for our own service areas.
