Payment from successful July 2010 closing still remains unpaid. No response to atty. letter, my e-mails, phone calls, etc.

This is a heads up to those who take a chance. I too had actually received payment from her in the past after she agreed in writing to payment, etc. and felt that I would get paid. Not this time. Even in writing she simply didn't pay, and there is no help from the Settlement Agent nor Lender. The SS is aware of her payment issues as well as the broker and lender, but she continues to represent them.

So if you see a 5 star comment rating due to paypal prepayment for Deb Lapine don't consider that you'll actually be paid.

Trying to reach her is useless. When you search for the Greenbelt address in Google you get Office Technology Experts - Timothy Lapine, owner -computer and technology specialists. Greenbelt isn't listed. One of her excuses in the past was that her computer system crashed for a couple of weeks and she couldn't access her files. Don't think so.

Has anyone had any success actually collecting from her? Your input would be most appreciated.

I did a signing for her on 7/28/10. I sent friendly reminders that payment was due. Nothing. I did note that the TC was one I do several signings for a month. On one of my emails, I mentioned the Vendor Mangement person's name. At the bottom of all emails, faxes and letters sent regarding non-payment, I included the blurb about "This is an attempt to collect a debt. I did finaly get paid on 9/13/10 which was 17 days late on my Net30 terms. Good luck to you.

I did 2 signings for Deb 11/6 and 11/8. By 12/8 I was emailing for payment since I did not receive payment 2 weeks after disbursement like I was told. After 3 emails went unanswered, I simply emailed again and stated that it was unprofessional not to even respond to my request. I asked again that she let me know when to expect payment, she responded within a few hours that payment will go out the next day. I received payment for both 1 week later.

Thanks to both of you for responding. You were lucky. Anyone else out there have open invoices yet?

Note that your procedures were all tried numerous times and finally through a law firm--- again no response.

Because of the blatant disregard by Deb Lapine, I give periodic payment updates in the Members Comments since August . When someone posts about her quick payment I try to make sure someone else doesn't get cheated and I update no payment received. Unfortunately, each time you do that in the Members Comments your previous message gets erased.

I have not been paid for a signing I did in April 2010.
I have made several "friendly attempts" and have nearly given up.
Thanks for the info, I will continue trying to collect.

Short paid but collected it and the check for balance cleared yesterday. Never again.
