Out of state speeding ticket
I have googled and searched and searched and I can't find reliable answers:
If you get a ticket out of your home state, does your state consider the offense according to their rules or the rules of the state where the offense happened?
Say someone is driving through Ohio and gets a ticket driving 82 in a 65, in Ohio it's considered speeding. In VA it's considered reckless driving. 2pts vs 6pts. Just curious, not asking for legal advise. Just wondering whether it would be worth the 8 hr drive back to the county courthouse if this would have ever happened.

Different states have different reciprocal agreements with other states.
I once got a ticket in NV and got points on my CA license at the CA point level for speeding.
There is a website I have used that has a strategy to beat speeding tickets. For a fee they will walk you though what you need to beat the ticket.
Google >>beat speeding tickets<< and you'll get lots of good input on what to do.

As mentioned above
In NJ if you get a ticket in NY or PA it will show up on your license, the max amount of points from out of state that carry over to NJ is 2 points. You need to find out about your state.
I was caught doing 95 in 65 mph zone, Trooper said I had a clean record and to fight it. I fought the ticket and got it knocked down to running a light offense and no points.

I believe there is 50 state reciprocity now but not completely sure. That is, all driving records are exchanged and available between the states.

I got a speeding ticket in Yosemite National Park in 2010, Federal turf, and it still wound up on my CDL.
That one surprised me.

Thanks, I haven't had a speeding ticket since 1977. I think if I got a ticket in Ohio I would drive back. My son, mister smarty pants said you can hire a lawyer to show up in court for you.
