Any ideas on a good printer

Any input on HP Laser Jet Dual tray printers? Which HP to buy and from whom. My current printer HP Laser Jet has started putting scuff marks on pages and some pages will have lite print from the current page, could this just be the drum?

HP's don't have drums to replace, it's built into the toner

cart. Maybe you have a bad cartridge. Why don't you post which model you have, and someone on the forum might be able to help you with that.
Otherwise, if you do a search under "printers" that subject has been discussed over & over again.
Everyone has their preferences. :-)

Uhhh...not exactly

Actually, Marilyn, my HP 2550 color laser printer has a drum; I had to replace it once. It was about the size of a Buick, and cost danged near as much. That's among the many things I don't like about this particular HP printer. Only HP printer I ever met I didn't like.

Thanks, Hugh. I stand corrected. The HP's that I had (mono)

had the drum component built into the cartridge. I shouldn't have assumed they were all that way.

Before you buy a new printer, try changng the cartridge

Much cheaper than buying a new printer. If that doesn't fix it, HP are the workhorses of the industry and are usually well worth the money to get fixed. Depends on the model. I just gave my "slow" 4100 dual tray to my sister and bought on Ebay a used 4350. 59 pages a minute vs 29! And not much larger foot print.

Give it a major cleaning, and try new cartridge

Check to see if your model has a drum or if it needs rollers. I did the rollers on mine once and it did a world of good. I use an HP 2015

Also, check your paper!

Your paper could have been exposed to too much humidity--I get terrible prints from "humid paper" a problem I have this time of year.

Re: Ditto, sounds dirty.

I just bought a HP 4250 on Ebay for $300 with free shipping, the printer looks like new, you could tell it was refurbish completely the rollers were new and it came with 80MB. I am now printing at least twice as fast. It also came with free shipping.

Frankly, it does sound exactly like a worn drum.
