Thumbprint for purchase of car
I have been asked to "notarize" a thumbprint for the purchase of a BMW.
Of course, I will not notarize the thumbprint, exactly, but I will notarize a sworn statement about the thumbprint.
Anyone else had this experience?

I sometimes work for a company whose sole work is car purchases for people who are out of town. For example they have a lot of dealerships in various places around the country. A local notary gets called as there is at least one paper that requires noarization. Sometimes a thumbprint is required.

Interesting
For years I have worked with a company that handles all the signings for Internet purchases of cars from Auto nation. I'll do about one a month. In all that time, I've never had to pull a thumbprint.
