I just quickly skimmed this, but you might want to check to see if the black toner is in a separate cartridge. Also, whether or not each color cartridge comes separately or if you buy a whole color pack. I;m not an expert on these, but I remember looking into color printers several years back and found out that the supplies are what really get expensive. Especially if you can't replace one color at a time - and if you tend to print more of one color than another. I suspect the key thing is to be sure to have a separate black cartridge, since that likely going to be the vast majority of what anyone here will print.

Comes with 1- 100-sheet multipurpose tray, 1- 500-sheet tray
You can add additional 500 sheet trays. Unless I am reading it wrong.

My son needed a laser printer for his work and I found one on Staples.com - it is an Okidata and the original price on it is $199 but I got it for $79.99 plus shipping. I purchased toners for it from graphictoners.com for $12.95 a piece. He doesn't need anything bigger or better and this will suffice for what he does. Just thought I would throw this out if anyone is looking for a basic laser.

It's color though
I started with a color laser printer. OMG--the toner costs!! There was no way to run it in B&W only mode, and a set of toners was $350+.
I love the multi-tray features of this thing though. I'd love to not be refilling my paper trays all the time.

This is probably a printer returned from a company that leased it because of the extreme operating costs, then refurbished and offered for sale here.
