Are you available to do a signing in XXXXX today? Edocs

Perhaps, who is the lender, what zip code are borrowers located in, and how many signers?

(if all that sounds workable)

Are you good with $125, or $150?

Yes! that's fine. OR,

Oh, we couldn't possibly pay that much, we're barely making that much.

Okay, well I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you very much for your time. Have a nice day (you signing off).

You: Have a working list of the companies who want to pay $50 to $95 and add them to it, and move on.

There are plenty of companies out there that will meet your fee.

In addition to being unwilling to meet your fee, they want you to fax back 40 to 60 or 70 pages, using a toll number often so that you're paying long distance charges on your telephone line. So already, you're reducing your low signing fee by as much as $20 (hidden expenses until you get your phone bill).

And you're lucky to be working for that company that pays you in 30 to 45 business days?

I don't think so. Regroup. Only work for 4 and 5 star companies who respect your time and effort and the professionalism you bring to the table.

How do you know if a company is not legitimate?

No business license

Go-Daddy website (i.e., Premier Notary Service, Coral Gables, FL whose owners have been prosecuted in Broward County, FL for numerous financial crimes) can be set up in a matter of minutes. Operating out of a garage, bonus room or bedroom, not a brick and mortar established business. By the way, Premier has been ripping off notaries for several years now. It's probably over for them now, but BEWARE, they may rise up again under a new name, same game, like Final Link aka Home Signings aka Signing Stream, Prudence who was something else a couple of months ago, Unique Signatures in Missouri City, TX, etc.

Fictitious names of owners/employees.

Are they a corporation, partnership or sole proprietorship? There are plenty of companies out there with no roadmaps of their establishment.

Phone number not listed in their name.

Low fees. Pay turnaround is 60 to 90 days.

It's monthend. Don't forget to read SC for members comments about companies before you start working for any company, and visit the numbers site too. Lots of good information there.

HAPPY MONTHEND. Once again, especially you newbies out there, we're dodging bullets and arrows right and left to stay profitable.
