Interesting. There was a piece on TV recently about
purchasers of foreclosures put in bidding wars by investment firms. Apparently, the firms are buying up foreclosures for rentals. What I found interesting is that first they drive the market up, capitalize, then drive the market down & capitalize again. Of course, that's always how investing has worked. IMO this was a manipulated market strategy, and the average American suffered greatly from it. The trend in my area is a lot of large apartment complexes being built. Again, the developers get the highest yield for the investment in the land that way. The "American Dream" has all but disappeared for many.
