Pens--too good to be true?

Hi all,
I've been shopping for pens today. I like the look of these Pilot Precise V7 RT's and they're about $24-$30 per dozen at places like Office Depot, Staples, etc.

I decided to try Amazon and found them for $1.69 per dozen in blue color. Shipping is about $7.00 for first box. I ordered 10 boxes for about $30 shipped.

Does this sound too good to be true? Amazon always stands behind their retailers and I have returned things with no hassles before.

Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Pilot-Precise-Retractable-Rolling-Point/dp/B0013CNZ4W/ref=pd_sim_op_1#productDetails

I'll post when they arrive (10 pens or 10 dozen!).

Re: Pen thieves

I give everyone I am in contact with a free pen, with my contact information clearly printed on it.
Brws + TCs.
It's increased both loan work and local GNW.

Staples has blue ballpoints in boxes much cheaper. Why buy Pilots to lose? Blue is Blue, unless you get paid more for using expensive pens. If you do, try Mont Blancs.

Re: Bic Sticks 10/$1.00. Nobody wants/keeps them.

At 25.7 cents each these are a bargain.
They write much better than sticks.
They don't make me look like a cheapskate.
I don't have to shake them for the client.
They are cheap enough at this price to not worry about losing the occasional pen; in fact if he/she asks for it I'll give it to him/her readily.
Maybe I should just buy more and give them to everyone I work with! That's a cheap way to say thank you. I think I'll send some back with the doc packages, too. I guess I like people.

I did see many cheaper pens out there while I was shopping. I guess I just wanted to alert others to pens that are normally around $2.00 each for (In my case) around 25 cents. I know there are pens out there for much less or even free. I also know there are some on this forum who use gel or rollerball pens and might appreciate these.

As I said, this may all be too good to be true.

No, not too good to be true - Amazon.com ROCKS!!

Amazon usually has the best deals and the prices can't be beat. I bought styluses for my family's cell phones. The retail stores charge $9.99 and up - each. I bought the same item on amazon for $1.69 each. Awhile back, I needed a replacement blade for a set of hair clippers. Went to the beauty supply and they charge $23 with a "no return" policy that applied even if the item was unopened. Went online to Amazon and bought the exact same item for $11 with free shipping. You got an excellent deal!! Thanks for sharing.

This is the email I got.
Karen,

I am so very sorry. It appears this listing changed unexpectedly yesterday and does not accurately represent the product in our inventory that we were intending to list on Amazon. I apologize for this mistake and resulting inconvenience. We have deleted the listing from our Amazon offerings and canceled your order for a full refund so you can reorder from another Amazon seller. Please let us know if you require anything else from our Amazon offerings and I will try to arrange an additional discount for your troubles. Thank you.

Yeah, bummer. I called Amazon and they gave me a $5.00 voucher towards my next purchase. Better than nothing.
