What CA notary has a $100K BOND??
NO....not $100K Errors & Omissions.........$100K BOND? I just got off the phone with a TC from Nevada who swears up and down that to be on their "approved list", I'd have to have a $100K bond. Apparently, I have a GNW client who is refi'ing and they gave them my phone number because they wanted ME to be the notary. The woman called and asked what the amount of my bond was. I said $15,000, as required by the CA SOS. She said, no that's not adequate, I'd have to have $100K. I told her she's talking about Errors & Omissions and she said NO - the bond. I told I don't believe she'll find a notary with a $100 bond......Errors & Omissions - yes.....bond - NO.
She said, YES we have someone but the client wanted me to be the notary and she had to call and find out what limits I had. So my question is: Do you, CA Notary, have or know another CA notary who carries a $100K bond on file with the SOS? I'm NOT asking about Errors & Omissions so do NOT write back about Errors & Omissions......I'm asking about the BOND.

TC gal clearly mixed up on bond and E&O. Too bad it
cost you a job. Especially when someone asked for you.
Can you call them back and talk to someone else? Worth a try.

Nope, 15K here. I'm thinking they are just looking for a reason to give the job to one of their pet monkeys.

Also only $15,000 bond here.
I agree with Belinda and Rhonda, Lisa. Seems TC wants their buddy to handle signing. You may want to call TC back and ask to speak with that someone's supervisor. You may also consider speaking with person who requested you to let them know what's happening. Maybe that borrower can put the "squeeze" on his LO to insist on you accommodating that signing.
Good luck!
