Yes I'm nosey
So I'm sitting here at my husbands closing. I rejected this order due to VA law saying I can't notarize my spouse signature. This notary is a point & sign. He dropped the docs in front of hubby and allowed him to go through the docs himself.
So I asked the notary where he got his training...lol you know!!!

Yikes! It is scarey who is out there doing this biz. I've
heard a lot about "no explanation of docs" being taken literally, and the NSA just collects signatures. OMG!

This is one of the many reasons why so many title companies & SS are lowballers.

sooo??????? Maybe he's traveling with someone else's stamp and biz cards....
It's called "impersonating" a notary...happens more and more frequently...
A wannabe? Does he have his commission in his briefcase, E&O policy, etc. I at least have these on my smart phone for reference.

This biz just keep getting weirder and weirder. I SURE WISH I COULD RETIRE, MOVE TO FLORIDA AND GET ME A BEACH HOUSE, MY 2 DOGS and MY WINE with no worries. That's all I want.

I attended a 2 day Fraud Conference Seminar Monday & Tuesday. This fraudster was speaking by the name of Frank Abagnale-movie Catch me if you can. Very interesting hearing how he impersonated an Airline pilot, Doctor, Attorney. My mouth was open the entire time with him telling his story.

From what I've read here, I believe I would insist the docs be sent to me via email or overnighted. My husband and I would sign, date, initial all non-notarized docs. Then I would find a local notary I network with to do the notarizations or go to the UPS for the notarized docs.

That could get very expensive at $10.00 per signature or notarization. Had a pkg the other day with 32 notarizations, it seemed like every other doc had to be notarized.

That is what the NNA says to do...
they "train" you to be a "signing agent" but then tell you that you must tell the signer that you are only there to witness their signature...this is a bunch of bullchit! I always point at the document as I am going over it with them so there is NO misunderstanding.
