this time of year. The last year I worked in that industry we had 83 temps out working at mortgage companies on 10/31. Over the next couple of months, I was asked to layoff more and more temps. On Christmas Eve, it was layoff 4 more temps. And, "make sure they don't come back to get their belongings. You need to be here early on 12/26 to pick up personal belongings." A couple of the people had worked at the company for 3 years as temps. Anyway, by 12/24, we were down to 7 temps out working. The mortgage banking market had taken a dive once again. By 12/31, I was laid off. Some industries are just cyclical. |
