Honestly, I don't think I knew there was an <annual> weekly tribute to the king. A bank coworker ages ago knew Elvis was still alive (lol). She'd say LLAARRRDDD (Lord) in a drawl only someone from southern VA (Tazewell, and I can still here her say it) could; she was adorable. Always had her white/blonde hair perfectly coiffed. She once sat in a chair I'd brought in because I couldn't sit well in the chairs they had back then; the chair was cheap and badly assembled (by me) and it broke. When I came in for my shift she told me about it; glad I wasn't there for that. We had lots of laughs in that place. Those sweet ladies are probably gone by now.
