Thanks to all the men and women that served in the Armed Services. My husband still remembers marching in a Veterans Day parade in Boston. They were flag bearers and it was 1968. They were spit upon and rotten tomatoes thrown at them. Viet Nam was not a popular war. What war is.
Nice that things have turned around. Free dinners everywhere for Vets. We went to McCormick and Schmicks last night for a free meal. They have this dinner special twice a year.....Memorial Day and Veterans Day. The main dining room was packed with Veterans. One long table of 12 was filled with Asian Americans that were all in the same squadron in the Air Force. Such a nice sight to see all the Veterans interacting.
And, continued prayers for recovery and healing for our Vets that are still fighting their own demons from their military service. May God heal their wounds both visible and invisible.
Have a great day today everyone! |
