| | 269 page loan application
Posted by Claudine Osborne at 12/22/2013 8:03:00 PM | I received a call yesterday to assist with a loan application in my town. I had not heard of this company before..She stated it was a loan application..wants to know if I could do this in the next couple of days? I replied Yes..Almost immediately I received the confirmation and seconds later the documents..I looked in SC for this company and the rating is a 2 star..I decided that it is not someone I want to work with..I then look at the the documents..It was 268 pages!! Wow..loan application for a RM..Thank goodness I turned this back..That would have taken a couple of hours..I dont have the time for a signing that long at EOM and a holiday week to boot..The fee was OK for a standard package..but not one of this size!
I turned it back immediately! She called and begged me to do this..Told her that I cant fit this in my schedule. She then emailed me trying to make me feel bad..then she increased my fee..I still said NO..She emailed back and said it was rescheduled! I feel sorry for that NSA I hope they check SC.. |

This was a re-do from Mon with 2 attys and their business partners..I checked the IDs and filled out my journal had them sign it..(not required in Oh). We start signing..About 15 pages in one of the Attys asks why I haven't given the oath yet? I tell him none of the documents have required it yet but that they are coming up next. I give the oath when I get to the first doc that requires it..
The 2nd atty asks me "When did you get your commission?" I give him the date and then he asks me "Did you take my class?" I tell him when I took my test there wasn't any classes..He said well we don't really have a class (I know one of my pet peeves) but I give a speech to scare all of the people waiting to take the test..Then he tells me he's the Notary Commissioner for my county( There are a few and I didnt recognize his name). I said really and told him that I would really love to talk to him!!
During the rest of the closing he was talking about notary stuff and told me that they do prosecute notaries! Great I reply..He said the most offenses are notaries notarizing car titles without the signer being present! (No suprises there)! I tell him that I hear a lot of horror stories and that I wish we could sit down together and talk..We finish up..He stands up extends his hand..Thanks me for doing a very professional job and that he was impressed!!
Whew..So always do you very best..Never know who we run in to..It was a good closing! |

Wow..This was my first time using the app..that I know of..It could have gone off before but if you know me and my issues with my smart phone you would be laughing too! |

They have also changed the price of the background screening to $ 65.00..includes exam for the CSS designation..Oh boy! Not sure yet if we have to be members to get this..details coming in form of an email a few mins ago.. |

| | Court appearance
Posted by Claudine Osborne at 10/22/2013 10:07:00 PM | I have received a subpoena to appear in court tomorrow for some notarizations for
GNW..This is for a couple that came to me to have their dissoloution papers notarized..
The husband is contesting the dissolution stating he signed under duress!!
I keep a detailed journal that is not required in Ohio..and when I notarized I wrote some notes as to the
fact that this couple were very ammicable and that I gave them the oath that was required on some of the documents..I have been asked by the attorney to bring this journal to court..No problem..Had I not kept a journal I may not remember the facts about this couple..Thank goodness I am a professional and will attest to the willingness of both parties to sign these documents of their own free act and deed!
This should be interesting..I have never been called to court before and wil use this as a learning experience.. But I hope to never get called to court again! |

Posted by Claudine Osborne at 8/15/2013 9:38:00 PM | I received a call today from one of their coordinators. She wanted to know if I knew of SLs bonus program for Chase loans? I did not know of that one..She said for all Chase loans the BO is surveyed and if they rate the NSA at a 9 or 10 we would get a $ 40.00 bonus at the end of the month..Sweet!

| | Sat doc delivery
Posted by Claudine Osborne at 8/9/2013 10:45:00 PM | My husband has a closing Sat evening at 6:30..He gets an email asking that the documents be dropped off for Mon morning delivery! He emailed back stating the documents will not be going out until Mon morning. We live in a rural area and he is going to a remote location where there isnt a drop location for 30 miles around let alone that late on Sat evening!
I know that some areas have drop off areas at every corner but not here..Sometimes people just don't get it! |
