Very nice Asian couple. The tallest table was 1 ft tall x 1.5 ft wide x 4 feet long. No countertops large enough to use in the kitchen.
They apologized while explaining that they do everything while sitting on the floor, which is a tradition in many Asian countries/cultures.
Okay, so I am going with the flow and standing/bending over and after presenting about ten pages, decided it was going to be much better if I knelt to present the docs.
All is well that ends well . . . the signing progressed smoothly on my knees and everyone was happy! |

Received a call yesterday for a signing at 8 PM on Friday (we have a snow and sleet storm in the forecast). I had to pass on the signing as it is so risky these days with 'new' companies popping up and then going out of business. :-(
This company is new to me so I checked the following:
Signing Central - not listed
Orange Search Button w/ Lenders Title Solutions - no results
Other sites - not listed
Asked how long they have been in business - Steve said 5 years.
The online search showed that the company was formed on 15FEB10.

Over a week ago sent a note to XYZ asking why ValuAmerica was being advocated thru the NNA bulletins to NSAs when that company has a history of nonpayment. At that time I submitted with my query a screen shot of the No Pay status reviews from SC.
To date, no reply at all to my query.
This morning another XYZ bulletin arrives and XYZ is advocating for NSAs to accept signings from ValuEscrow.
You will find that Robert W. Murphy is the President of ValuEscrow AS WELL AS President & CEO of ValuAmerica.

Low fee, early AM signing for tomorrow, but would not send the docs until the AM. They are Mountain time [not a good sign as borrowers are Central time].
Told him my fee for the signing engagement/requirements, but he said that he regularly only pays $75. I did let him know that I was sorry, but that I could not accept the engagement for that fee.
Has anyone worked with them previously? Not in Signing Central and no results in Notary Rotary Search.

"Fortunately while 90% of all loans are backed by the federal government a great portion of those are backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and while those two entities are government run they are funded from the fees they charge. Unfortunately The FHA does not work the same way and while the number of FHA loans have fallen off recently the FHA accounts for a large percentage of the loans currently being processed (roughly 60,000 per month). During a shutdown the FHA will be unable to insure loans and their staff will be unavailable to underwrite and/or approve new loans. According to HUD in the event of a shutdown only 350 of the 9,300 employees would be available to work."
