NNA signing course
Has anyone taken the NNA course? Was it worth the money.

I have taken the NNA Signing Course to become a Certified Notary Signing Agent. The course was excellent; also, I was able to network with many Signing Agents gathering additional valuable information from other Notaries.
The information covered was from the obvious to the complex; thereby offereing a very wide range of aspects of the Signing Agent Industry.
By taking the course, I was able to enhance my notary skills - learning the "tools of the trade" to become a "top notch" Signing Agent.
I have kept in contact with many Signing Agents - we often discuss common issues within this industry.
In summary, the NNA Signing Agent Course was an invaluable tool to me and I strongly recommend anyone interested in a comprehensive education in the field of Signing Agents....take the course....it's worth every cent. Thank you

I also took the Certified Notary Signing Course throught NNA. I've been a Notary for about 20 years and I was very impressed with the depth that this course provided. Not only did it cover the Signing Agent aspect, but also general notarial and state specific questions. I feel that by becoming "Certified" has shown my willingness to learn and it is also a great marketing tool. I believe it was worth the time and the money.

Re: NNA Signing Agent forum great too!
If you join the NNA signing agent section (it is included for one year if you take the course) you have access to the Linked-In group for NNA signing agents. It is a totally awesome group with major discussions on it each day. I highly recommend that you take advantage of it as part of the course. Also, the course includes a background screening now, and many companies I have signed up with included a question in the application either just asking if you took this NNA course or asking if you were background-screened, so it makes it easier to get signed up with companies.

Re: NNA Signing Agent forum great too!
Also, the NNA provides consistant and updated info re: notary laws by state and nationally. While their programs and materials tend to be costly, they are usually on the cutting edge of what is going on with technology and within the notary field. The Best Practices for notaries and for businesses that hire and supervise notaries is excellent I think. I would urge members to at least take a look to see if NNA offers and info is relevant to your own needs and work. jer/Ohio

Re: Q - you are reading posts from 2003...9 years old. LOL.
I had just read your "Grumpy Old Notaries" speech. I LOVED it!!! I do believe in learning things from the roots. I thought I'd take a look at the ""originals". Of course, I'd take everything with a grain of salt, understanding that it's 10 years old, but it's still worth learning/hearing/reading.
I believe in knowing how to calculate taxes and tips with a pencil and paper or in your head.....you know, before we all had a tip calculator in our cell phone.
I've seen quite a few of your posts. I gotta say...you're awesome. I think I'll learn a lot from you. But I'll read your posts (and may comment once in a while). I won't bother you with my newbie questions.
Thank you.

This thread's all-positive posts are from newbies/XYZ trolls
First of all, XYZ is NotRot's competition. The fact that every post preceding mine in this thread proves that said posts authors are newbies and/or XYZ trolls. Otherwise, they would know better than to mention XYZ's name as other than XYZ. It IS considered advertising and is a violation of this forum's rules. Of course, I know better than to expect that said rules will be enforced against said posts' authors. Few of said rules are enforced, anymore.
Maybe Harry and his team of hand-picked moderators are relaxing said rules. That is fine for them. But, I liked the fact that this forum had such rules in place. Otherwise, it's value is diluted. Because, if advertising is now allowed, more threads like this will appear and Harry might see his membership roster dwindle on NotRot as many newbies and some NotRot veterans leave to try out said new/other forum.
By the way, any NSA who has spent even 5 mins. in this profession knows what XYZ is all about. And, the Linked-In forum for XYZ's NSA's is populated by newbies & XYZ trolls. So, if you say anything negative about XYZ, your comment will be deleted.
I, too, took their certif. course. I was charged separately for the background check. I even renewed when they called me promoting the now-defunct Trusted Enrollment Agent program, which no longer exists. The only reason I'm not still complaining is that XYZ made amends. I won't say how. But, they will work with you, somewhat. Maybe they're improving a little bit.
Every time that I called the NSA Hotline with questions that they advertised as being knowledgeable about, when I purchased said section membership, I was usually on hold for 15 mins. or more before an agent answered. When they finally did, they told me that I would need to ask an agent at the company that hired me, or the TC or lender.
I originally signed up in 2004. But, a membership agent who made an error cost me the now-minimal benefit of showing same from then. Now only shows since 2005. A year may not matter to you. But, it might make a difference to a TC/SS recruiter.
I've encountered many docs. in lender's packages that weren't covered in the certif. course. Also, I've only received 3 orders in 9 yrs. due to my listing on XYZ's online, signing agent directory. That's 1 order every 3 yrs. JMHO

Correction to 2nd sentence in 1st parag. of last post.
The fact that every post preceding mine in this thread [is positive] proves that said posts authors are newbies and/or XYZ trolls.
I left out the words "is positive" because I'm never in a positive mood when referring to XYZ. Sorry about that.

More importantly & to the point, who'd repost such mssgs.?
And, WHY would you repost any messages that mentioned NotRot's competition? That is a violation of NotRot's rules, isn't it? At least, it used to be. But, with the posts/threads I've been reading in this forum, lately, I no longer know what to expect. Are some members trying to equalize NotRot's value to XYZ's? because, that's a sure-fire way to do it. I'm glad NotRot is a private entity.
Because, if the latter observation were accurate, I wouldn't want to own shares, if NotRot were a publicly-traded company. I suppose I'll have to wait like a schoolboy n the corner to find out because we're all being punished when such rule violations occur. And, the fact that this site's regular veteran's haven't weighed in (on this recent issue) speaks volumes. Just saying! JMHO

My previous posts are examples of what could happen when...
...members read posts out of sequence. This evening's entertainment was brought to you by The Drifter. Drifting forums on a careless trek to nowhere. LOL
