New at this game....

I'm brand new to this field and have been registering non-stop for 3 weeks.
I had my first signing on Halloween of all days, and it had me 'spooked' for a while. Are early signing jitters normal? You will be hearing from me a lot more as time goes by. This thing of ours can become addictive, and I'm not shy about asking for help when need be.

Before I actually accepted an assignment, I spent two full months signing up with companies and reading everything I could. I asked another notary how I would know I was ready. She told me that I wouldn't, just go out and do it.

The first one I did was a re-sign. The borrower kept saying, "that's not the way the other notary did it." And on the confirmation sheet was a note from the title company saying they could assign it to anyone other than the first notary - too many errors.

In the beginning I felt my presentation was choppy, but after doing about ten signings that feeling went away. As you go you will find your own rhythm.

Just remember this is where we all started.

Thanks for the advice - I just did my second signing and it was much 'smoother' than the first. Now I have to remember not to take assignments from Victory....
