Loan signing ?
I just recieved my letter stating I passed my Notary test. I am getting finger printed tomorrow, I know that will come back clean because of my current job. Can I sign up and take a Loan signing course now, or do I have to wait until I take my oath and all that? ALSO, Do I buy my insurances now or wait? Please help!!!! This is all new but I am interested in getting a jump on things!!!

Crissy, You will probably need to let the folks here know what state you are in. I can already see you are not from Texas, and that's where my not so vast knowledge about these official things end. Good luck. Brenda

I admire your desire to get started...I suggest that you call the National Notary Association at 818-739-4000 to get some information from them. I am from CA as well; I suggest that you get insurance just before you start doing loan signings and be sure to get extra good coverage for you. Good luck.
From the timeline of being fingerprinted to when you have your seal & can start notarizing docs is at least 4-6 weeks. So again, don't buy insurance quite yet.
Do you have a background in real estate, loans or banking?

No backgrounds in signing, something new for me!!! I was wondering if I could sign up for a loan signing course before I get my notary stamp. I got fingerprinted today. How long does it take to get your insurance bonds in the mail? do you know? Thank you for the number, I will call them.

I found a free course for online, but my question is.... do I have to wait to take that course until I take my oath and all that. See I passed the test, got my fingerprints done, now just waiting on the results from DOJ. I know that I will pass because of my profession now. However, I would love to get a jump on the Loan signing course. Can I do that now? send me the link for the one that you saw. Thank you!

My advice is to take the Certified Notary Signing Agent course through the National Notary Association...once you pass, and it is an open book exam, you will be placed in a database on the Notary Signing Agent Section of the National Notary Association's website. I have gottem many assignments for signings through that website, and you can be assured that you've had proper training. I don't recall the cost though.
Good luck.
