THOSE $40.00 CLOSINGS
Bah! Humbug to those companies (such as Global Notary) that only offer us $40.00 per closing with all notarized docs faxed back! I'll take 'em only if I can get my minimum $50.00. I let the agency know that I am a "professional" and have been at this crazy business for quite sometime. My fax time & long distance call is worth the extra $10.00 for the closing. I don't like the $50.00 closings.. but it is $50.00 I didn't have. And sometimes those cheapies can go rather smoothly. For those of you who are newbies, those $50.00 get you in the door, and experience under your belt. Never take a $50.00 closing less than 40 miles. If we all stick together regarding the $40.00 closings, they will have no choice but to give us $50.00. Please don't accept anything LESS than $50.00! $50.00 was the going rate back when I started 4 yrs ago, and gas prices have NOT gone down. Good luck to us all!

I agree, however, being new to the notary business, seems so many companies do not want anyone without atleast 2 years or 100 signings to work with. Having done only 2 signings so far, I come across this everyday I am joinging or trying to join another agency. I have a license in real estate so I try and use that as a comparison, only, in letting them know, I too had liability for the contracts my sellers and buyers would sign, which I also had to sign. So I am aware of the importance, for forms to be signed correctly. But its not that easy getting our foot in the door, so though I understand your point, we need to get in somewhere. Any suggestions, would be helpful..and much appreciated..

Dear "Best Secret in the Industry"
There's a couple of comments I'm going to make about your "advertisement". It reminds me of the late night commercials on TV for all the products being hawked for "ONLY $19.95!". In spite of your stated promise that "$40.00 is unfair period", you don't give any indication of what you WILL pay. You also don't provide any information as to who you really are &/or where you're located. Not impressive at all in my humble opinion. In fact I'd be inclined to steer clear of any "company" (if indeed that's what you are) who doesn't know enough message board etiquette to turn off the "Caps Lock" on their keyboard. In summary you come across as "fly by night" & of the "here today, gone tomorrow" breed of entrepreneurs on the Internet.
Sorry if I sound rather harsh, but first impressions ARE everything...aren't they?

So who are you? How can we know you are "for real" if you won't let signing agents know what business you are?

I concure with Dennis on the last posting. I would be also leary about someone who doesnt give enough information on who they are and what they have to offer. Dennis also had a good point on the CAPS take them off no need to shout.
If you are legit I would like to see who you are and where and what it is you offer.

There is no reason for any of you to accept $40 signings...it cheapens our industry and degrades our profession. PLEASE stop accepting anything under $50. You're every bit worth this and more....freeze out these low ball fee companies.
if you're interested in garnering higher fees, email me a wildsignings.com

your email is not a valid email address. what is it you have to offer and if your legit why not expose yourself and give us your name and what your offering?

Re: THOSE $40.00 CLOSINGS-ENOUGH SAID!
Ok enough!! I am a business as you all are too.
I have invested in a laser printer, business cards, a web page, cartridges and backup cartridges at $60.00 a pop for printer and fax, joined several organizations at $40 to $100 a pop, cases of legal and letter paper, clips, folders, bought map software so I get correct directions, put in an extra phone line for faxes, postage for marketing, time and gas.
Hey!!! This sounds like a business. If I go to $40.00 signings I might as well be a nonprofit organization, but that will not feed my kid or pay my mortgage. I am a business!!!! (I SAY NO WAY TO $40.00 SIGNINGS)
