HP 1300

I have the HP 1300 with the second tray, and I want to set up the second tray to print legal documents, but can't get it to work. I changed the settings for dual trays, but it won't print. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Check the printers PROPERTIES. You need to make sure that the software knows the second tray is installed and what size paper is in it.

Assuming you're using Windows 98SE, 2000 or XP, do the following:

Click on START
Select SETTINGS
Select PRINTERS
RIGHT CLICK on the HP Laserjet 1300 PCL 6 printer
Select PROPERTIES
Click on the DEVICE SETTINGS tab
Under INSTALLABLE OPTIONS, make sure TRAY 2 is flagged as INSTALLED
Under FORM TO TRAY ASSIGNMENT, make sure TRAY 2 is set to LEGAL
Make sure legal paper is in tray 2 and letter paper in tray 1
