Pennslyvannia Notaries
I am planning on to move to PA in the Spring 2005 and I was hoping that someone whose a notary in PA could tell me how to apply to become a notary. Thank you!

Re: Pennsylvania Notaries
Unless things have changed since the handbook I have: Any citizen of Pennsylvania being 18 years of age or over, of known character, integrity and ability shall be eligible to the office of notary public, if he shall have resided in the Commonwealth for at least one year immediately preceding the date of appointment and shall be a registered elector in the Commonwealth.
The application has to be accompanied by a $25 filing fee. The application must bear the endorsement of the Senator of the district where the applicant resides or in the case of a vacancy in that senatorial district , shall be endorsed by a Senator of an adjacent district.

Re: Pennsylvania Notaries - Updated Info
Here you go: http://www.dos.state.pa.us/bcel/lib/bcel/notaries/notary_public_new_03.pdf
However, there was also a State Supreme Court Ruling in June about education, so check here also: http://www.dos.state.pa.us/bcel/lib/bcel/notaries/supremecourtdecsionrelatedwebsitenotice.pdf
You may need to copy and paste links if they don't fit on one line.
