Power of Attorney in CA

Hi, I wanted to know the correct way a person should sign in a loan signing where John Smith is NOT present and his wife Ana has a power of attorney in California?

I was told she must sign

"Ana Smith attorney in fact for John Smith" is this right?

You should verify with the lender. I have always had them sign:
"John Smith by Ana Smith as his attorney in fact" and never had a problem. Each lender may require something different. Just remember when you do the notarization, you only acknowledge "Ana Smith" not "John Smith by Ana Smith as his attorney in fact". We cannot verify capacity in CA.
