I have a brother HL5140 and it works jsut as fine. I think it's less than the hp1300. But with an HP, you don't have to replace a drum separately. But my machine works quickly and haven't had a poblem yet. FYI.

I just bought mine from Newegg.com. It was $352.00 or so. It also has the $100 rebate. Becareful about which model you buy. COstco and some of the other websites sell a 1300xi for $299 but you can not get the rebate with that one. Only the 1300 and 1300n. It says so on the rebate form.

I purchased a HP1350, which has the memory slots in front, to install
your digital camera shots for printing or emailing. I bought it at Office depot
in Ventura,CA for $149.00 It functions beautifully and have had zero problems, since I
plugged it in. Hope this helps......Bob.
