Shredding docs

Do you shred the whole loan package or just those pages that has the borrower's SS#, of which I have done? Just don't want to burn up my shredder.

Thanks...Andy

I usually shred everything, but as long as you shred anything with the borrowers information on it you should be OK.

From dealing with my attorney/client confidentiality docs, I've become accustomed to shredding everything -- but as Sylvia says, that my not be necessary. If not shredding, I would still manually tear the papers up and not leave them whole when trashing them.

Why do you have docs after the signing? One copy to ss or lender and copy to client.

Don't we all have no signed, cancelled, and mis-printed docs?

Thanks everyone...Andy

Those are the ones I was referring to shredding.

I've had several 'no good' edoc packages lately. I return the documents with the final signed docs and let the lender/title co worry about it. Same thing on cancelled signings. Anything else I shred much to the dismay of my poor shredder.

I had one instance where the docs didn't print correctly so I sent them back with the good copies. Silly me for not thinking about cancellations and refusal to sign.

I would be afraid that once they got to wherever, the bad and the good would somehow get all mixed together.

I just take mine out to the back yard fire pit on the weekends and start my bon-fires with them.
