I downloaded my first set of docs with this program today and I have to say I didn't like it at all. The VMP program they used to use was really simple - enter a password, immediately went to the page with the docs, downloaded them to my desktop (took about 5 seconds) and printed from there.

This new program is java based. The page took a couple of minutes to load correctly and had a security certificate popup. I printed the first set of docs (simple enough, just clicked on the link). When I tried to print the second set, the page had frozen and I couldn't click on anything. I shut the browser window, went back to the site, logged in again, and this time the page just didn't load at all and just froze immediately. I tried that about 3 times, never worked. I ended up having to shut down my computer, start it up again, and then start from scratch to print the second set. And after those printed, the page was frozen again.

Hopefully these are bugs that they'll get worked out pretty quickly, but right now it's really annoying.

And on the subject of Ameriquest, the particular signing tonight never happened. I got the confirmation with a note that said to call the loan rep before contacting the borrower, so I did. He told me that he'd been trying to get a hold of the borrower but couldn't, that they were leaving for vacation shortly and needed to get these signed.

I tried to call the borrower to confirm a few times, never answered the phone. I went to the house at the appointment time, the husband was there, had no idea what was going on or that I was coming. He said that his wife had been handling it and she wasn't there.

So basically, Ameriquest set this appointment without ever checking with the borrowers to see if they were available. Luckily, I had another signing scheduled after that one which was in the next city, so I didn't really end up going too far out of my way for this signing, maybe only a mile or so, so even though I'll only get a trip fee for tonite (and the email doc fee of course) it was worth it for a 10 minute detour.

I'm really really debating whether I want to continue doing signings for Ameriquest. The signing service who sent me out gives me a fair amount of business each month and they have no problem with my rates, but most of it is Ameriquest loans which seem to be getting to be a bigger and bigger PITA with each signing.

I gave up ameriquest 2 years ago, with no regrets. There have been a few companies that call and I accept the appt. just to find out they are Ameriquest. Now I ask and decline if it is ameriquest, unless it is from a certain title company.

CA Notary, who is the SS? I also do many Ameriquest signings for one specific SS and there are always problems. Ameriquest also owes me for a signing from over 2 months ago. Now it is Town and Country Credit, which is a new client of this certain SS and they owe me for a signing from over 3 months ago. The SS always compensates me but when these lenders call me direct, I always have problems getting paid. Ameriquest seems to be extremely unorganized. They get these "newbie" loan officers that really don't know what they are doing and I've had many borrowers say there has been nothing but problems with this company. It's very frustrating. I am also in California.

The signing service is Universal. They've been great with me, send out checks once a month like clockwork and if they're having problems getting paid by Ameriquest they're not letting it affect my payments. I just wish they would find some other clients. I've seen a few Argent Mortgage doc sets - are they affiliated with Ameriquest? The docs are very very similar.

I'll ditto CA_Notary's comments. I had so much trouble with the new website and downloading I finally called their tech support and asked them to send to me in pdf. They weren't real happy with me but did it. My alternative was to cancel on the signing.

Also, I once did a signing for them 50 miles from my home, assured by them that everything was set up and time was of the essence. Bottom line, borrowers had decided to cancel, notified lender who didn't notify me. Ameriquest constantly sets appointments with borrowers then delays sending of edocs until too late to meet times. PITA is mild, in my opinion and I don't do business with them anymore.

I'm doing a closing for them tonight and printed all docs on legal (122 pages!). The first set printed fast and OK. Halfway through the second set, my printer (HP 3330) locked up and so did Internet Explorer??? I just made copies from the first set of docs to finish up the borrowers copies that got hung up. I don't know what happened but I reported the error message to Securesignit.com and to Microsoft.

I had to print ameriquest docs last night on legal paper. My printer jammed once at the beginning but after I pulled the page out, it printed fine. My printer (HP3380) never jammed before but it had to that time - Murphy's Law! It automatically printed 2 sets, 100 pages a set. This was my first ameriquest experience. Didn't realize the borrower had to complete a form regarding their history for 10 years. Also, on their 1 week right to cancel - the last date to cancel wasn't printed so I wrote it down at the bottom of the page. What did you do with your right to cancel form? Any other things unusual on your opinion?

FYI - Don't mess with Ameriquest docs in any way, shape or form. They will come down on the SS. Just put a post-it note. For the one-week cancellation there is no stated date. It starts the day of the signing and ends at midnight 6 days later.

The 3 day right to cancel I fill in with 3 days. The one week right to cancel doesn't require filling in a date. I just tell the borrower when the week ends - eg, signing done on Friday, RTC ends next Thursday at midnight.

Lindy; Sometimes if your browser is open, ie: web searching, you are
using more of your CPU to run other tasks , thereby putting additional
work load on the printer. This can cause your computor to freeze. This is
why you end up having to restart. I recommend you only print instead of
running other applications. Hope this helped.

I will tell you my Ameriquest story. I got a call from a signing service which was Notary or Notaries "something". I was driving and couldn't clearly hear the name of the service. She asked if I could do an Ameriquest signing in 2 hours. I was free, but since it was a ways away from me I said I could, but it would be $150.00. She readily said, "OK", which rather surprised me. She said the LO would call me in a few minutes. In 10 minutes I got a call. The man identified himself as "Gerald from Ameriquest" and he thanked me profusely for "helping him out". Then he proceeds to tell me that the docs would have to be dated the 27th (of June, it was the 28th when I was talking to him.) I told him I couldn't do that because it was illegal and I could lose my commission. He said, "Oh, OK, that will be OK." Then he hung up.

I went home to download and print the docs and as they were printing, I started wondering what he meant by "that will be OK." So, I found the signing service's number on my cell phone log and called them. I explained exactly what he had told me and that I wouldn't back date the docs. She said, "Oh, I understand completely, but we will have to get someone else to do the signing.". I hung up and stopped the printer and just threw the docs away. Why didn't I save the borrower's name and the signing agency's name? Or the number off my cell phone?

One week later as I was leaving FedEx, I get a call on my cell. The guy says, "Hi, Judith, it is Gerald from Ameriquest". Evidently he had forgotten me, or thought I was the signing agent who really did "help him out." So, I said, "Heeeey, Gerald, did ya ever find somebody to back date those docs for ya? And, get this, this is what he then said, "ah, my cell is breaking up, I'll call you right back." Of course, I've never heard from him again. I'm not sure I trust Ameriquest and though it is sad, I probably won't sign up with another signing company with Notary or Notaries in their name.

"though it is sad, I probably won't sign up with another signing company with Notary or Notaries in their name."

LOL. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. Do you realize how many signing services use the word "notary" in their name?

Since you know the date of the aborted signing you should be able to find the phone number on your phone bill. Call them, find out their name, then you know which signing service to avoid. Sounds to me that you should be avoiding Ameriquest, not the signing service - they were just doing what Ameriquest wanted them to do. Illegal sure, but I'm sure there are plenty of notaries out there who would backdate just to get the cash.
