A $25.00 Notary??

An SS called for a Refi 65 miles south of me (Lexington, OK) I told them my fee and I swear I could hear her fall off her chair. She advised me that she has a notary in OKC available for $25.00, and that she called me first because I was closer. I told her to call that notary. Please tell me none of my fellow notaries in Oklahoma are doing signings for $25.00

If the SS actually does have a 25.00 notary, then STUPID is not the word here. would you not agree.

Looks like I'am on my way to that signing. Her $25.00 notary was unavailable, go figure.

Good for you. Signing agents can only cut their own throats. Like any other business you have to know your compitetion.

I'am not afraid of compitetion, it keeps me marketing myself and I've been in the RE & ML business a long time. I'ts MHO that the SS lady was trying to blow smoke up my tail pipe, but I'll be be smoking all the way south. he he

I hope you're not taking the signing for $25.00.

If a signing agent is willing to do a signing for $25 to benefit a Signing Service they are not to bright. The signing service will take advantage of them in every way I beleive.

This must be the same S/S that complained to 50 State Notary because they could not be Listed on their Site--- Gotta give credit where credit is due-- They were told" it was an insult to ALL Mobile Notaries to offer a $25 Fee-" and refused their request for Listing... A person gotta be "real desperate" to even consider a fee like that.. !!

Well- I thought I had heard just about everything..! Whats next? Umm?

Well, we did have somebody post in here a few days ago who said he wouldn't be so "petty" as to charge people for notary services. Maybe the signing services will start trying to pay us in goodwill next?

Update: 25.00 Notary

FYI
Did the signing for a LOT MORE then $25.00. I wont name the SS, but it was a mobile home Refi if that tells you anything. As for the 25.00 notary, in the SS's dreams. Chris, what part of OK are you in, I had to turn down a signing last night as it conflicted with the signing time for the other. Perhaps I can refer them to you the next time.

Re: Update: 25.00 Notary

Hi Lawrence, I am in Tulsa (Broken Arrow actually) lol, I had a mobile home refi recently... they had about 20 stray dogs hanging around and a picture of GWB pasted on a scarecrow for target practice (their 12 year old went outside to shoot his shotgun while I was there) lol, you never know what you are driving to!
