Cry baby, cry..
I fully expect to be ripped apart and eaten alive by wolves because of this message. No problem. I just want to express my angst - that's all - for there is no sage advice you can offer me at this point.
I read the boards religiously and am following all the marketing tips I can possibly follow, courtesy of the wonderful folks on this board.
I am fully-equipped, certified, sanctified and bonafide - listed everywhere with anyone who will have me (even the scoundrels).
I am not over (or under) priced, I'm in a major, major growth area - Phoenix - and yet. no calls - save the sound of crickets. And yes, I know it isn't a get rich scheme and I know you are dubious of newbies anyhow. Be gentle.
So I was looking for a note of encouragement, perhaps, like, ' hang in there, kid' or ‘it’s seasonal’ or something.
Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Why would you expect negative posts? Those who get slammed on this board are those who come here with questions that can easily be answered simply by looking at prior posts, or those who by their questions have established unequivocably that they are unqualified to be a notary public, much less a signing agent. You don't appear to fit into either category.
I would suggest that you call scheduling managers for signing services (not title companies), explain that you are fully prepared to do closings, and would like to be considered for the next one in your area. Tell them you will work for the beginner's fee of $50 plus $35 for e-docs. Write out your pitch in advance so that you know what it is you wish to say. Be sure that Thomas Siriani (sp) and Sign on the X are at the top of your list. (Just kidding on that last.)
Good luck.

Well, the advice you got is what I would have expected. I didn't read in your post, that you were willing to work for "FREE". So don't bother working for either of those names! I know that you want to remain anonymous, so if you would please setup an e-mail address that I may send some information to (an e-mail address that you won't be using very often, or one that can be deleted), - that might be of help to you. When you have got the new e-mail address setup, please post again -- with the Subject: #2 Anonymous. Then list the address.

Most likely you won't get ripped apart -- instead you probably won't even get much response, because of your Anonymous posting. So if, as you say, you want encouragement, give us your name and AZ.

How long have you been in the business? Can you provide the link to your listing, maybe some of us can critique/comment on how you advertised yourself?

Oh yeah.. the Anonymous thing.. pure business practice.. overcautious, perhaps: I didn't want anyone to know that I can't get a proverbial date, let alone get to third base...
I spent a rare rainy Phoenix Sunday trying to figure out how to penetrate this market. Hell, I've done sales before! I can do this! Thanks to y’all - I am much more focused than I was when I posted my angst, which was really a cry for help.
I now realize that more foreplay is necessary. I was merely batting my eyes: it will take candy, flowers … and maybe going out to meet the folks. The idea is to plant seeds, so to speak, and give birth to a workable bouncing mobile notary love-child.
I greatly appreciate your advice, in spite of the zingers.

Another suggestion, please drop the sexual connotations. I find them distasteful, immature and unprofessional. I believe that you can find other more appropriate terminolgy to express yourself.
Thank you.
