December volume

December hasn't been as heavy, closing-wise, as I had expected. Being without a phone for the last 15 days in November, because I moved, might have something to do with that. On the other hand, revenues are at my second best month ever, with one more day of mail and, it is hoped, more end-of-the-year checks. How is everybody else doing?

Will be right around 80 this month; not bad for December.

Hugh, its been a great month. Had I not voluntarily taken almost two weeks off for the holidays this December would have been my best month to date.

Great month for me, I wasn't expecting that.

Mine was really good too and I also wasn't expecting it. Last year Nov - Jan were really dismal. I figured that if I could make 2/3 of my average this month I would be happy enough and I ended up exceeding my average by a couple of hundred dollars. And it would have been higher if I hadn't decided to take a few days off this week.

I'm just curious how many SS's and Mortgage/title companies everyone's signed up with? Roger, I see you did 80 this month. Do you have a few companies that give you lots of work or a lot of companies that give you work sporadically? I live in a fairly rural area and I don't have anywhere near that kind of business.

It's a combination of both for me. I do get a LOT of business from the 123Notary, NotaryRotary, and GMN site listings.

Re: "gmn"

Hi Ronald,

No problem; "gmn" stands for "gomobilenotary", a notary site with a discussion forum. I think a lot of the posters who post here also post on gmn.

acronym

It's short for GoMobileNotary.com. Another site that you can pay to list on, which also has a free public chat board.

My December volume is just barely beating my November volume, but it was a close race! I do not do as much volume as others here but I am happy with the 23/25 I do each month! BK-FL

Re: 23/25

I would be batty.. I limit myself to 10 Loan signings a month and 10 regular affidavits a month. Anything over that amount, I refer them to a friend who is a notary or tell them to a plain no...

Re: 23/25

Nicole,

Do you work another job, then, since you limit yourself like that? I do about 10 loan signings a month but I also work a fulltime job. I'd like to be able to do more loan signings but there isn't enough consistency with the SS's to quit my fulltime job.

Re: 23/25

I have 3 other full time jobs. Mother, Wife, and regular job. This is my side job, I am really trying to break into Loan Origination/Loan Officer field. I think that is way more interesting. Fortunately, I have hooked up with someone who originate loans and she is teaching me the ropes.

Re: 23/25

Well, those jobs are very important! I work full time in banking but it's really not related to my loan signings. I happened upon that by a chance meeting. Good luck with the Loan Origination/Loan Officer field.

Hugh,
We left the day after Christmas for the cabin and just returned. Just glancing through the posts/threads, I'm going to be busy for quite some time catching up -- and it looks like a lot of fresh signing agents have joined us (see I didn't use your hated "newbie"). At any rate, December was quite busy for me. During Christmas week I turned down 9 signings for the the week between Christmas and New Years. Had I not gone to the cabin the last week of December, I don't know how many signings I *could* have done. My cell phone does not have reception at the cabin so I just changed my message wishing everyone happy holidays and that I would be available again on January 3, 2005 -- which reminds me that I must change my voice message back.
