Docu-file---Title & Escrow -- Tulsa, OK

Well I hate to do this as I have never done this before but the time has come. I did a signing for Docu-file (Titile & Escrow--Tulsa, OK) Oct 25, 2004 at 11:00 pm--that's right 11:00p.m in a city that is an hour drive for me. It was a last minute "please, can you do this loan" type---edocs, the whole nine yards. After several phone calls--the first explanation being "well, the loan was late to fund" and the last being--checks in the mail. The signing went uneventful, no notary errors reported to me. The loan did fund as I checked the recording of the mortgage in the county and guess what--no check. I sent them a payment demand letter and I will have a judgement filed on them if I do not receive payment by 12/21.
I have always told myself that one must be sure that they have exhausted all payment collection efforts before they place a company on the boards and even as I have I hate to do this but I don't want to see someone else print docs at 9:30 pm and drive an hour only to not be compensated for their services.
If you are out there Docu-file make good on your "Gentlemen's Agreement" to pay and provide a reasonable explanation for your selay and I will prompty report your actions on the boards. If you choose not to pay then please understand it is your integrity you have called into action, not mine.

I had no idea, until I read this Board, that there were so many flakes in this industry.

I am hoping that you requested a signed document with your paperwork before accepting the assignment, agreeing to your time, mileage, fees, etc., and if so, you have cause to take them to small claims court. A contract is a contract and must be enforced or pay the consequences.
If it was an oral contract/agreement, you performed a service, then you still can enforce the law upon them. It's a hassle, but they asked for it.

Good luck. Let's hope they are just late payers.

Well as I said I on 12/16/04 I sent them payment demand stating I would seek remedy from the court if I did not recieve payment by 12/21/04. I recieved a check on 12/20/04 for the full amount of the signing but minus the collection fees. The check was dated 12/16/2004.

Why not send them another invoice- showing what as owed-including the collection fee; and what was paid- and show the balance still outstanding... It's worth a shot.. LOL
