Fee INQUIRY....

I agreed to take a signing that I have been to before, however, the fee was 5 dollars more than last time. It is a piggy back plus borrowers copies totaling 310 pages plus my instructions. I am not sure what the acceptable fee would be but I charged and they agreed on $137.50. Is this too low?

Depends on your area. Here in IN (in the part of IN that I'm in) yeah, but in CA, probably not.

A double (aka piggy-back) edoc for me would be $210. If I had to go further than my kitchen table, add travel fees to that.

Hi Melanie,

Yeah, but the kicker or the variable is how far away it is. You don't indicate what state you are in, but if you happen to be in CA, I know that it can take a long time to go a few short miles there.

Also a lot depends upon how busy you are and what sort of relationship you have with the entity that retained you.

You should have some type of schedule to set a fee for a given signing. i.e.
base fee 75
2nd 25
E-doc 25 EACH
Total 150 - if within your base area.

Depending on where you are, this would change.
Note: in your name, put your state, then the people who live in that state can give more concise advice/opinion
