GAC....Did you get the email today...
Bank One packages will be sending an application for their credit card. If you do not see it in the package, you are to call GAC immediatley and they will have to fax it to you. If you send the package back without the credit card application (filled out or not), your fee will be deducted. They said that we do not have to "sell the card" but sounds like it to me. If you get the whole package signed correctly, what in the world does a credit card application have to do with a loan. They are taking advantage of the notary just to solicit business for them, whether they like it or not, that is what it sounds like.

Yep, I got it too. Just add "sales person" to the list of "hats" some companies want us to wear.

I did get the email. I place it up there with the auto pymt. deduct form, I point it out, and send it back ( I have never had a borrower complete one). Do you do alot of direct mail (Fed-ex..etc ? I deal mostly with e-docs.

I wish I did get more over night docs. 90% + are email docs. I will certainly point it out (the application), but deduct my pay if I don't send it back, that is ridiculous. With all of the fax backs and running to FED EX before the last truck leaves, what else will they put in the package? I had a signing for them today (5pm). Called at 4:30 to find out where the docs were, since they swear it would be sent over night. They said that they were still waiting on approval of the HUD and they would have to email the docs. She said she would call me back. I will call vendor management and ask for a "trip fee" since they neglected to call me and I had to turn down other signings. This is the 2nd time this month that this has happened to me with GAC.

I would treat it just like I treat the referral form in the Ameriquest loans - just ignore it and tell the borrower they have it in their copy if they ask about it.
Having said that, it's utterly ridiculous that they are threatening to reduce our fee if we don't call them because they don't include it in the loan package. I haven't done any signings for them, but I hope those of you who got the email strongly express your feelings on this to them. There may be some valid reasons to reduce our fees, this sure as hell isn't one of them and will ensure that I never do any signings for them in the future.
It's just another example of a company that has zero respect for what we do as signing agents. I'll spend my time working for the companies that do respect me, thank you.

I have done Chase signings for another SS and this was in the package. I was confused by it at first, but figured out it was just an advertisement. I have not been advised that the absence of these forms would be a problem from the other ss...yet, anyhow.

Capital One
Last year this company was illegally checking my TRW every month and mailing me applications for their card. I called the credit bureaus and stopped this, so to see that they are now including their applications in the loan package just amazes me.
I, for one, will do as CalNotary says and just ignore the app if I ever see one.

Re: NOT Capital One !!
Be advised that the credit card application is for BANK ONE, not Capital One. (Are you sure you're not HisConfusedNess? )
Bank One and JPMorgan Chase recently (and quickly) merged. Do not confuse Bank One with Capital One as they are two separate and distinct companies.

Really...these ain't hard... but, that's not the point:
The 'point' is IT IS NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THEIR PAPERWORK! Period. End of story. Enough, already.
