Now, post us a little something and click the little box with "add link to my profile" so we can stalk you.
You'll also get to have a little pink box by your name when you post.

Pink???? Looks orange to me. Maybe that's because I'm in Florida. <g>

Actually, I think it's pinky-tan-orange.

Mine is an orange box with a blue border. I don't have any pink. I don't think Hugh would be pink either, otherwise he would have commented long before now on the color.

But, when you look at the truly ORANGE search button, don't you see a little difference in the colors?

Re: PINK ????
Yes, definitely different. The little square is decidedly a "dusky" orange.

Re: PINK ????
Just because I'm a engineer by education, real life training, and "it's in my genes", here is the RGB values for each orange swatch.
"Pink" square = 253 - 192 - 112 Search button = 247 - 152 - 050
So, the orange square has more "color" to it. Thus the search button is more "washed" or faded or lightened.

Why, thank you Paul. That's language I can definitely understand.
It's a good thing you are married, or I'd give up al my yarn, soap making, and obsessively geeking around on the 3 computers in this very room -- my typing location...pack up at least two of them, load up my dog and be in Florida by lunchtime tomorrow.

Actually, Paul, I think in Texas, the notary law says something about it. That's the only reason. I have to keep my commission!

How? Can someone help? was Re: Look at me!!
Ok...so how did you become a "Premier" member? I can't seem to find an 'upgrade' link/button, and I've already emailed [e-mail address] asking 'how' since I can't seem to find it, and I'd like to order supplies/journals at the listed discount. The toll free number only gets me a voicemail. Bummer.
At one point in searching the site backwards and forwards, I did run across a message that said I already -had- the highest membership available, but I'm still 'basic'. Additionally, when I first log in, it states that my state legislature is Alaska, when I'm in California, and have California selected eveyrwhere in my profile.
I'm ready to pay..got plastic MELTING in my hands (rather than cash burning a hole in my pocket) and I can't seem to upgrade.
Can someone help me? Please?

Kat:
Apparently, you have an account because you are currently logged in. Here's one way that might work...
Log out, then log back in.
Use the "my account" button.
There you should be able to do something.
It took me to a screen where I went ahead and renewed my membership. It's due in February, anyhow, so I just went ahead and got myself hooked up to be able to monitor this board for another 14 months.
NOTARIES: YOU WILL FIND THE MARKETING LIST OF SIGNING COMPANIES INVALUABLE.

One final word, I promise, on this...
I have written Harry a couple of times. They are really swamped with emails and ALWAYS get back to me within 24-36 hours with very comprehensive answers.
Their customer service is very good.

I know..I -was- logged in at the time of my last post (now I'm not, tried it this way too!), and I found the How Do I Upgrade link, which instructs one to login, then click My Profile...and from there upgrade, but for the life of me, I must be missing the upgrade part of it somewhere.
I've been a member of this board, lurking and learning for three months now. ~grins~
Happy Holidays, and thanks for the info, I'll see what happens in response to my email from yesterday. Not to mention, it IS a weekend, so I need to just go decorate for the holidays and give it til a weekday. :o)

directions
1.) log in 2.) The page is divided into sections. The first section is entitled "Your Overview." In this first section are the words "Your Membership." To the right of "Your Membership" is a small blue oval button bearing the words "My Account".....Click the blue "My Account" button. 3.) Scroll down to the area where you see more buttons and begin the payment process by selecting payment type. 4.) Be sure to press the correct button at the bottom of the page, ie: choose next not prev, not trying to be funny, I pressed the wrong one myself, wasn't paying attention, it was late.

1.) log in 2.) In the upper right hand corner of the screen in the white area are the words "My Profile"....Click "My Profile" 3.) Scroll down to where the drop down list is for your state and change it.
I forgot to look and see if there was a button to save changes there, so look for me.

Re: directions
Thank you for trying...taking the time on my behalf.
There are no buttons for upgrades anywhere. When I log in, the first screen shows this: http://www.sidheproductions.com/notary/login1.jpg (I did a screenshot to show what I'm looking at).
Note that it says Generic and Basic, not sure if that makes any difference, AND....state is still listed as Alaska, even though I've gone through and redone my profile several times (even resorting to using a relative's address in Indiana briefly to see if I could trick the system into overwriting and correcting once I switched it back to California.
I've tried re-entering the info, then logging out, and completely closing my browser, as well as tried it in both Netscape and IE in hopes that perhaps one was holding on with a deathgrip and not actually inputting the changes.
When I click on the My Profile link, top right next to Login (or right now, since I am logged in, next to Logout) there's nothing in there to select as Upgrade.
I guess I'm stuck until Harry can get to me. No rush I guess at this point, tis the season and it's not worth getting worked up over. I'll survive for a few more days, but ladies, I do appreciate your efforts and attempts to help me.

Well...I'm blonde. ~grins sheepishly~ I found it. I'm a new notary, just getting my bond and E&O (those are ordered from Notary Rotary, so I get to wait a few days before taking my oath). As a last ditch effort I selected Yes on "Are you a mobile notary?" Honest me, since I -wasn't officially- one yet, I had No checked off. Guess what? And everyone here is nodding now and saying to themselves "yep...blonde", the buttons appeared. ~shakes head~
Thank you again for trying so hard to straighten me out.

Obviously, Kat, you were not destined to be a notary public signing agent. Have you considered short order cook? Also, I understand the Republican Party is looking for consultants who can advise it on how to be both compassionate and conservative, if you have expertise along those lines. Be advised, though, that a GOP consultancy is not an easy job. The party has already fired four language advisers who attempted to explain that "compassionate conservative" is an oxymoron.

Amusing Hugh.... ~grins~
Actually, I'm a lousy cook, half the meal ends up on the table while we wait on the other half to burn, but my husband likes me for other reasons. Actually, as my skills have been amply demonstrated these past few days, I should probably consider a field other than webdesign or system admin. Darn computer programs just keep outsmarting me lately. Must be the blonde, that's rapidly turning grey, confusing things, aye? That might be why I'm here. A change of pace.
BTW, how's your new machine? Behaving better? Yes, yours (along with a few of the others) are posts that I often read, and have been making a habit of reading for the past few weeks while waiting for my commission to arrive in my oft shaking and impatient hands. Besides the rapier fine humor, there's information to be had. Compassionate? Not a word used to describe me. And definitely not conservative.

Re: How? Can someone help? was Re: Look at me!!
Kat, When you click the "Find a Notary" tab above, and click your state and zip, your name should come up. Does it show that you are in California or in Alaska? Also, the "Find a Notary" is divided between Premier members at the top and basic members below them. If you can't find your name under the California search, try Alaska and see if you are listed there.
I don't recall if it is here, or anothr site, but when doing a search for Colorado, someone in California always appears, too. I don't know if this particular person has dual notaries or is trapped in a black hole, similar to the one you appear to be in.

Hi Brenda!
Mine is unchecked (checking hides your profile from the search here).
I show up in California, it's just the State info that's wrong on the login page. No biggie.
I'm getting there, managed to change my name that's shown. Gotta redo that.
Happy Holidays! Kat

Re: How? Can someone help? was Re: Look at me!!
It shows me midway down the list for 92392, Victorville, California, and yet, even though I've now checked the box Yes that asks if I'm a mobile notary, my welcome/login start page still says Alaska.
LOL
Thanks Carolyn!
We'll see what happens next, I've got my California State pages bookmarked, so I don't rely on that link, but it's just makes me take a second look every time I login.
