Notary fees

Hey there! I am new to this field and would like some professional advice on how to charge for my service. I don't want to be greedy, but in all fairness to the veteran agents out there, what is fair and how do I determine a professional charge?

I am not asking how much you charge, but what should I expect as a new signer? (only 6 mos experience and about 10 signings) I have yet to make a mistake and I always triple check my work. I put extra time in to make sure things are right.

Also, what is a resonable amount of time to expect to get paid?

Thanks for your help!

I can't help you with any info on accusigning as I have never done any work for them. I am also in Arizona and welcome to the arena. Are you Tucson, Phoenix, Prescott, Flag, or what area?

I'm in Prescott area - I guess I've come between you Smiley What is her major?

Nursing, but she is in her first year and of course, her major may change several times by the time she gets done. Also, thanks for the welcoming!

You're welcome again. I hope you choose to come back. This is a very fun group of people and it's been very interesting for me. I don't post much but I read the posts alot.

You may find some infor for accusign in the old posts. You can use the search function or press the PREV button at the top or bottom of the page. Again, welcome and I hope you have as much fun here as I do.

First of all you need to determine whether the company is a title/escrow company or a signing service. From there you can start your rates. Title/Escrow companies are at one fee and signing services are at another. Also you can always ask what they are authorized to pay and sometimes you will get more than you expect from them.

Too many newer signing agents don't do that and I know from personal experience that a title company that I use pays me $125.00 to $150.00(edocs) but another signing agent in my area will accept $50.00 to $75.00 (edocs) and is lowering the standard pay, so try not to do that to the industry!

Thanks so much for your feedback. Never thought to ask what they are authorized to pay. Good point! And I will not undercut the industry standard just to make a buck. Our work is valuable. Thanks again!
