Sorry the post should have said:

I was asked if I do Titles?

"Doing Titles" is a large, broad category covering everything from title searches, title commitment preparation, possibly HUD generation and settlement and funding, and full closings. It's like asking what job does a "mother" do?

When someone asks me if I do titles, they always mean "Do you do abstract work/title searches?" Title cmt prep, HUD generation, and settlement are all things done by title insurance companies.

depends what state you are in. In Pennsylvania, if someone asked you if you do 'titles' they more than likely want to transfer a motor vehicle and want you to fill out the state forms.

I work for a title insurance company. You wouldn't believe the amount of calls we get saying "How much does it cost to transfer title on my car" Smiley

I called the company back and left a message, I will post what it means when I find out.

If they have used you for signings before, they are probably looking for an abstractor.
Doing title searches is much more involved than a signing.
