late night signinigs

To all notaries I need your input. How much would you charge to do late night signings in addition to base fee?

And just how late are you refering to. If it's not to late (8 to 9 pm) I dont charge extra, but if its after 10:00 the I charge a little extra. After midnite, a hole bunch extra.

Up until 9:00 PM standard

Then $25/hr after that. I value my sleep highly.

I think part of it depends upon how much notice you were provided with. If it is a rush job (not much notice) I would charge extra. If not a rush job, not sure. Keep in mind that nsa's do not work a nine to five time schedule M thru F.

Can't tell by your posting whether you are male or female. I found myself in a very scary position last year near midnight and would not accept any amount of money unless the signing was in very familiar territory. The later it is after 8PM the more you charge. How much is up to you.

I normally don't accept anything after 9:00PM and then only if it is close to home and quick and dirty (Chase HELOC, etc). My hours are 8-8 M-S. I like to have a life.
